About Me

As a mom and a pediatrician, I couldn't believe how much trouble I had breastfeeding my first child.  It became my mission to succeed and help others do the same.  I went on to become a breastfeeding medicine specialist and now spend much of my time at Peconic Pediatrics and throughout Allied Pediatrics of New York focused on breastfeeding support.  

From my personal struggles,  a complete breastfeeding program was born.   Peconic and the Allied Peciatrics Breastfeeding Medicine Center joins pediatricians and lactation consultants with the mission of helping every mother reach her own personal bresatfeeding goal.  

The mission of Best for Babes is to change the cultural perception of breastfeeding and Beat the Breastfeeding Booby Traps®–the cultural, institutional and legal barriers that prevent parents from making informed feeding decisions and that prevent moms from achieving their personal breastfeeding goals (whether that’s 2 days, 2 months or 2 years) without judgment, pressure or guilt.

I support this mission 110% and hope that you will do the same. 

As team captain, I aim to raise $1000 and plan to run the North Fork Breast Health Coalition's 5k at Tanger Outlets on September 29th.  In addition, I will do at least one yoga class a week from now until October 31.
